0161 620 2115 Crompton Primary School Visits the Depot
Earlier this year, Q Crane & Plant Hire was proud to sponsor the new football kit for Crompton Primary School’s football team. As the school year and football season draw to a close, we were delighted to welcome the team to our depot for a behind-the-scenes look at the equipment and people behind the Q name.
The visit gave the players the opportunity to learn more about our cranes, the work we do, and the vital role lifting operations play in projects across the country. From exploring the machines up close to asking plenty of questions, it was a fantastic day enjoyed by everyone involved, both children and adults alike.
At Q, we believe it is important to engage with and inspire young people by showcasing the wide range of careers available within our industry. We hope visits like these help spark curiosity and encourage the next generation of engineers, operators, and industry professionals who will help shape the future of the UK.

Meet Georgia, Our New Hire & Sales Coordinator
We’re delighted to welcome Georgia Beddis to the Q Crane & Plant Hire team as our new Hire & Sales Coordinator.
Georgia joins us with valuable experience gained at Nationwide Platforms and Balfour Beatty, where she developed strong expertise in customer service, project support, and hire desk management. With a keen interest in building her career within the lifting industry, Georgia is already making a great start and brings enthusiasm, knowledge, and a proactive approach to the role.
We’re excited to have Georgia on board and look forward to supporting her continued development and success at Q Crane & Plant Hire. Please join us in giving Georgia a warm welcome to the team!
A Crane Named ‘Niel’
Recently, pupils from Nields Academy’s Eco Council were invited to visit Slaithwaite Reservoir, West Yorkshire, where they had the chance to see our impressive Kobelco 1350G crawler crane in action.
The crane is currently playing a vital role in the construction of a new spillway at the reservoir. This important infrastructure upgrade will provide a safe overflow channel, allowing excess water to be released when reservoir levels are high. The project is being delivered by JN Bentley in partnership with the Canal & River Trust as part of ongoing improvements to the historic reservoir.
As part of an environmental learning initiative organised by the Canal & River Trust, the pupils learned about the engineering, environmental, and community benefits of the project. The highlight of the visit, however, was a very special naming ceremony for our crane
We were recently asked by a valued client to supply a telescopic crawler crane for a project in Scotland, lifting precast concrete panels into position to support the construction of a windfarm substation.
As well as the crawler crane itself, we were tasked with completing the lifts under full Contract Lift conditions. Following a detailed site survey, Q Crane Hire provided the method statements, risk assessments, one of our own experienced Lift Supervisors, and all under-hook lifting equipment, supported by a 100T Liebherr Telescopic Crawler Crane.
