Crane Engineer
Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping heavy machinery running safely and reliably? Due to continued expansion, Q Crane Hire is looking for a highly motivated Crane Engineer to join our team.
Based primarily in our workshop and yard, you’ll carry out repairs and maintenance across our crane fleet. You’ll also support rigging and de-rigging operations nationwide and deliver operator familiarisation when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair cranes and associated equipment in the workshop and yard
- Support preventative maintenance programmes across the fleet
- Lead engineer for rigging/de-rigging of hydraulic lattice and telescopic cranes across the UK
- Maintain accurate service and repair records for each asset (faults, repairs, service dates, etc.)
- Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times
- Work away from home as required, with occasional extended hours and weekend work
- Order and chase parts/materials to ensure work is completed efficiently
- Provide technical advice to minimise downtime
- Identify and suggest improvements to how the role operates within the business
- Carry out other reasonable duties as requested by management
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience
- Proven experience maintaining, diagnosing and repairing mechanical & hydraulic machinery (crane experience desirable)
- Knowledge of assembly/disassembly of machinery, plant and/or equipment

RIGGER/RELIEF OPERATOR
Highly motivated individual to work as a Rigger/ Cover Crane Operator to join our team. Primarily working within the workshop function, you will be tasked with carrying out rigging and de-rigging of the company cranes, deliver operator familiarisation and supporting the business as a cover driver when needs arise.
The role will involve working on our equipment both in the workshop and various locations across the UK. The ideal candidate would ideally have experience of cranes and/or the lifting industry.
Must have a can-do attitude, ability to work well in a team with good communication skills. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and is eager to learn with a willingness to work for a forward-thinking company.
